I think they should keep the dog head scene and completely omit the gang rape scene. The first Kick Ass film was different from the book in that Dave ended up with Katie instead of her hating him with a passion.

OR It might be black because they tried a metallic grey and it came out looking really off when filmed and the black might come up metallic silver when looking through the lens. I read somewhere that Christopher Reeve's Superman suit was actually a shade of green and when it was filmed it came out blue.
