I appreciate the correction and clear explanation on using approach speed as opposed to Vs - useful to know, but hope never to have to use it.
Hell, I'd change my name to Chris ShitInaCan if it meant I got to own a B25.
"flying his fuel-strapped plane mere inches above the Pacific Ocean for an hour and a half..."
"That's no moon...."
I know a large number of pilots who are privileged enough to fly WWII aircraft, and none of them - NONE - do this for money, or to support their families. All of them are hard working people who have been successful in other areas - real estate, software, airline pilots, etc - and ALL of them do this as a passion. A…
That may as be. However, I worked for a large city council with literally thousands of both standalone and interelated applications and databases - everything from streetlight management systems to library books to sewerage and water sanitation plants. We worked solidly for three years up until Y2K - mostly around…
I trust that Nigerian officials are spending as much time reassuring the public that raping six year old girls does not cure Aids...
Yes, I WOULD like to know more.
While 'rut' as in 'rutting season' is obviously and perfectly correct, no, I was referring to 'root', which as a piece of slang led to the inevitable tee shirt "I 'm a typical kiwi - eats roots and leaves'
Could not agree more, and nicely put. What the GM should have done (and I would like to think that I would be able to do myself) would be to find out what she was upset about. That's what the big GM bucks are for. I'm just trying to say that the power to communicate further much than a shout brings with it downside…
I agree that the GM could have done better in the Customer Service stakes. But when was the last time that you read a review with the phrase "jerkoff" in it? I suggest there is a contributing factor of instant gratification that comes with tweeting that would not be there if she were to write a negative review at a…
Hearted, you put it so much better, and more concisely than I.
If it was a public tweet and if she named the establishment (which to all appearances it was, and she did), that is going to cause the establishment harm. It could easily be argued that it is in fact worse than standing up, going to the door, and shouting that "This restaurant has jerk off bartenders!!". Sorry, but…
At least Downunder, the far more common meaning of the verb 'root' is 'to have sex with'. Reading the headline "Man Roots Six-Foot Nexus S Display At Best Buy", and this part in particular "...he decided to go one step further and root it. He doesn't show how he roots the device, just the aftermath." is hilarious. …
Not sure that "satellite service is terrible. Who doesn't want to watch TV when it's overcast outside" is a fair comment. New Zealand has had HD satellite service for years and the picture quality only ever suffers when it is serious, serious weather events. You might notice some mpeg type artifacts a few times a…
Check anyway. I never turned Sync on, and yet, through the magic of FB's "ask forgiveness never" policy, my entire phone's address book was up there...
You don't? How about this: Sync was turned off on my phone, and still *somehow* my entire address book (including confidential and unlisted numbers) managed to find it's way to FB. Result: instant deletion of all native iPhone apps with anything to do with FB at all, and it's browser only from now on.
And get off my lawn!
You know the middle seat sucks. And you know that Gulliver's Travels is a great flick.
