I traded my 2015 Golf SportWagen TDI for a 2016 GTI. They gave me 22k for it. I will get an additional 3400 from the cash payout in this settlement since I traded it. This totals 25400 or a little more than I would've gotten from the buyback. Not terrible.

Mk7 GTI 6MT. I average 30MPG on crappy Cali (Nevada) 91 octane and it’s still super fun to daily drive.

MkIV VW R32. The noise that comes out of that car is the best thing south of six figures.

This! This is the best news of the week! I've been freaking out over the Press Release not mentioning a manual transmission and was honestly planning on not getting this car (I'm a MT purist and own the MkVI R right now). I now know what, when, and how much my next car is. Now I just have to figure out colors.

What golfball said: Internals. The R block will be able to handle MUCH more power before it has any issues while you'd have to teardown your GTI block to push 400HP. Also, it's an R.
