I also live in Brooklyn and felt similarly helpless. A friend of mine used to work as a lobbyist for an environmental group. She reminded me that Citizens United can work in our favor. Groups like Planned Parenthood, World Wildlife Fund, etc, are already organized and can lobby members of congress on our behalf. I

I tried to call Yvette Clarke’s office and couldn’t get through. Did she issue a statement already?

I’m in the same position - my representative and senators are Blumenauer, Wyden, and Merckley, respectively. Do I call them and offer support for their statements? Is there anyone I can call to make a difference here? Please, someone, help.

Call them anyway, give them good feedback if they are doing good. like the rest of us, they need support too. imagine how many NRA calls they get a day...lets make sure they hear our voices too! We need them to know that the election is NOT a mandate to go center, and that we demand they go farther left!

I live in MA under Liz Warren and Ed Markey. They are on top of this! But I also want my state reps to hold Gov. Baker’s feet to the fire for not voting for president at all! What kind of fucking coward does that shit. I can’t wait to get him out of office.

Exact same thing down to the Bannon question and its subsequent posting, though I live in Yvette Clarke’s district.

Nobody cares about the socialist label

Alex Pareene’s self-important explanation for why he may or may not deem voting in a presidential election worthy of his time was the single worst thing I have read this election season.

“Cause she’s a badass... RRRrrrrrrrah”

If I wasn’t so nervous about googling “rim shot” on my work computer, there would be a rim shot gif here.

The parental units are conservative transplants from New York who haven’t lived there in over thirty years. My father in particular loves him.

One of my co-workers was feeling the Bern and then switched to Stein. We live in California but he gets defensive about voting for Stein. He is a smart guy, works in IT and tried to defend Stein’s comment about WiFis. I have never given someone the level of side-eye I gave him when he made that comment.

I don’t normally feed trolls but if you’re going to say you’re of above average intelligence, it’s best to not say so on a post in which 0/2 sentences make grammatical or syntactic sense.

Having those issues with Clinton are perfectly valid but it doesn’t make Jill Stein a better option either.

Maybe we address it by showing up for hundreds if not thousands of other elections that take place throughout the country every single year? The ones for positions that actually affect public policy over time much more than Presidents... y’know, the way the far right did for decades until we got into the current

Yes yes yes yes and yes. I did hear the other day (though I haven’t had a chance to research whether this is true) that they need to put a candidate into the Presidential race for some kind of election rule reason, which if that’s the case fine but do it quietly and don’t try to take votes from the sane/normal

I’ve been wondering about that. Can the party make a clean break between the bigoted based and the fiscally conservative patrician wing? I’m skeptical, but let’s pretend they can. I think it would take a couple of election cycles (maybe 4 years?) and strong PR messaging for those two new parties (let’s call them

That is insane & disheartening & idiotic. You’re exactly right- how can someone “see” voter fraud. You vote behind a curtain. WTF. Obviously “keeping an eye out” for voter fraud is a euphamism for harrass non whites. non men. People who “look” like they are voting for Hilary.
