I might have to trade my VW Scirocco that occasionally gets mistaken for a Deloreon (by morons who don’t realize there is a vw badge on it, the entire bottom of the rear window says “SCIROCCO”, when I get out the doors open normally, and the car is neither covered in ice or has left a fire trail) and get a real one.

Neutral: While I don't see this as something that will happen in my lifetime, I believe eventually with autonomous technology, ride/vehicle sharing, public transportation, and a growing need to fix the planet will eventually make this a true statement. However, we are far from this happening with huge hurdles to cross

I have to slightly disagree (but not totally as your points are spot on)....when I first started driving most cars didn’t even come in automatic and if they did you were paying usually more than a grand to add it (my 1996 Honda Civic would have cost me $1200 extra to have it in automatic). The auto industry as a whole

Neutral: I would say automakers “think” no one wants a manual transmission anymore....even in a sports car. Also that everyone’s car has to be outfitted with all the latest technological wonders as standard equipment (it’s really sad that my 12 year old was flabbergasted by the fact that my classic VW has crank

I drove down an alley a few years back and happened across some dude painting his pickup truck with a paint roller. A. PAINT. ROLLER. Had the truck been some 30 year old POS I wouldn’t have batted an eye. This truck was brand new....window sticker still on the truck. In case you care, it was an ugly pea green color. I

Looks like we can place Space Invaders on the dashboard.

That car looks like it is more closely related to a boat than any land vehicle. Does it come with a fog horn?

Obama has been to Disney too many times....the monorail is not the answer

  • CATHS HIMSELF WITH A RUBBER FUEL LINE HE GETS FROM *** HARDWARE AND THE TUBING GOT SUCKED INTO BLADDER

At least she didn’t tell the cop she was using a smartphone app to do the calculation for tons to pounds.

I think Google and Ford are both a little desperate to have an autonomous car. I think it will be either an uninspired design no one wants or some crazy radical freak design no one wants. Google will try and ram it down our throats every time we search for porn on the internet and Ford will plaster adverts in front

Everything, everything would happen and then the universe would implode.

Margin of Error: I’m only interjecting this one because well, it’s a scirocco thing and any scirocco enthusiast will agree :) Although, I would be happy with their MKIII Scirocco with, as you said, manual transmission, lightweight, AWD.

This reminds me of a bachelor party I attended. As a joke someone breaks out a video titled “hands on a hardbody”, well it wasn't what anyone expected. Instead of what might have been probably real bad porn, we instead were treated to a documentary type movie about a contest revolving around keeping their hands on a

I really am not understanding the “secrecy” revolving around the Dieselgate “fix”. So VW has submitted something to the EPA but it’s a secret. Why? Is it because the fix needs to be tested (which I fully understand)? Is it because it will be costly for the company/time consuming for the owners (loss of a vehicle for a

MK 2 Scirocco is relatively light weight. Original 16v motor only put out out about 120 HP. Without today’s safety regs a decent AWD system and motor with more HP (I’m not talking swapping motors) and I’m set. Hell strip out the backseat and sell it as a 2 seater and put the motor in the back.....

OEM 80’s cars with today’s safety? Give me a VW MK2 Scirocco with AWD, optional engine configs (although an updated retro 16v motor with more HP than provided in the 80’s would be a nice retro touch), a radio that actually turns off when the car turns off, update the speedo/tach dash area, keep the entire interior

As much as VW is increasingly ruining their soiled reputation by driving further down the rabbit hole, this diesel would make a fine addition to any local VW show and probably drives solid. It’s more a reminder of what VW once was as opposed to the their apparently Hydra-like current incarnation.

It’s still a shit box. Doesn’t matter what color it is, what special features it has, or what nostalgic feelings it invokes because it’s still a glorified piece of junk. Maybe if the car was of a better quality.....

While I think this would be an awesome idea in more ways the one. I don’t think just the “nostalgia” gimmick will work long term for VW. It has a cheap been there done that feel. Ultimately, I think VW will have to rethink US sales and the current lineup they offer as a whole. If they were to introduce the microbus, I
