So you lose shit and then people get you something to help remind you not to lose shit and you get upset at them for trying to help you not lose shit. Got it.

2017 was great for me.

This is why I now have ground pepper on hand. I still like grinding to finish, but its easier to just pour. And people measure pepper? Huh. Learn something new every day.

I’ve seen the fermcaps. My problem was I was literally cutting off the air supply/steam vent by squeezing onto a plate before the hot break basically making a lid. I doubt even a fermcap would have prevented it.

That’s why I got the Moto x4. Bonus points for having removable SD card slot.

Came to say that. On veterans day I went there for dinner for a free burger and it was not good. I chose to go there instead of Olive Garden because it was closer. Next time I’ll drive further.

For Thanksgiving my grandma brought a cheese ball. The rest of the food was good, but honestly all I cared about was the cheese ball, crackers, and smoked salmon. I made an entire meal out of it the next day.

I haven’t had any explosions yet. Been close once or twice but was able to swap out with a blow off tube before larger problems appeared.

I’ve read a mixed bag of opinions on whether to squeeze or not. Some say never, others say always. If I keep up with that route i’ll probably just have to up my grain bill to compensate for the lowered efficiency.

  • What’s the most expensive piece of equipment in your kitchen? Has it made your life better? Kitchenaid is awesome

I’ve been trying out BIAB and my efficiency has been way low. Like 1.030's when I need 1.050's. 2 weeks ago I tried squeezing the bag to get as much wort out as possible but its hard to squeeze a 150 degree bag with your hands. I grabbed a pizza pan with holes in it and put it on top of my kettle and put a cutting

Here’s a fun topic. Biggest homebrew failure. Like uberculture posted earlier everyone has a disaster.

I don’t blame you. They both have basically the same stuff. I just hate parking at the St. Paul Store. The Minneapolis store is nice too but I can never seem to get back on to 35w correctly.

Books are good. Youtube is easier to digest and understand because you see what is happening. Tony Yates does fantastic all grain videos on a system that I can only dream of one day using. The downside is he is on the metric system but i’ll forgive him for that.

I take it you’re from Minnesota? My first kits and most of my equipment came from Northern Brewer. I like both their stores but I go to Brew and Grow only for the mere fact that it is closer to me than NB. I have nothing against the staff of NB because they have always been super helpful and top notch.

“and that excitement can lead to purchasing more cheese than one can (comfortably) eat in a single evening. “
Challenge accepted.

“We’re making hotdogs, not hamburgers” In reference to the quality of the materials going out to our clients... And in return our clients are paying us for hotdog prices as well. Kind of disheartening.

Isn’t eating a “late breakfast” at noon just called lunch?

I’m in the same boat with my Moto x4
