@Islandkiwi: One reason this one gets hype is because the status update is the proof. It's hard to prove the knitting and such. Although the media likes to blame videogames more than they deserve, don't forget that if videogames weren't involved, it'd probably not be on Kotaku. Getting crime news through Kotaku is

@bakagaijin: It seems to be both, from what I've seen. Maybe more of one than the other, but some definite synergy going on.

@Ryodestined: Unfortunately, that would accomplish nothing, since every generation is (and would be) "balanced" with a Pikachu wannabe, a rat, a bug, a bird, a dragon, and perhaps a few fossils and eeveelutions thrown in for good measure. (there are more archetypes, but you get the idea) Yeah, according to the lead

@BlueFlameBat: All it is is an interesting picture (usually related to gaming, in this case RRoD) They're trying to let the picture speak for itself. 'cuz a picture is, ya know, a thousand words.

@Ryodestined: Multiple trainers CAN team up for the battles. Ever since Ruby and Sapphire you could do this through the link cable. Also, in DPPt, you had the option to team up with an NPC for many parts of the story, and in the Battle Frontier as well.

@New Jack: Extra Sweet for the Kids!: For those of us that play competitively, the battle system has changed immensely every generation, especially in Gen4 with the physical/special split. If you're looking for real time Pokemon battling, go play Smash.

Maybe they can put a parental control that controls to control if their children can use 3D or not (hopefully 3D can be adjusted digitally?)

@Ueziel: I'm not saying that this is going to happen, but this game has the potential to make junior high dances...actual dances! (instead of standing around the punch fountain.)

I want to point out that they didn't even try to match the driving to the video game footage, but then again, I guess it doesn't matter since the people that will actually buy this won't notice that anyway.

Strange that Melee didn't make the timeline. That was when competitive fighting exploded for the Smash series.

@Faceless.Troll: Yes, but the key will be found because the locksmith left it in a hidden treasure chest in your backyard.
