Was going to nominate the same car. They're also still sold here (called Nissan V16) and they're the best budget cars. Commonly used as taxis and they're racking up 500.000+ kms with original parts and/or cheap labours.

But it will it have a turbocharged engine like the Juke's awesome MR16DDT?
Looks scary similar to the Land Rover Discovery I
My brain hurts
I agree with you on the engine part. Brazilian engines aren't at all bad honestly. Brazilian engineering is actually quite clever, just look at the plethora of small Brazilian 1.0 engines that can run on both Ethanol and normal gasoline and feel quite peppy even at <80hp. I drove a 1.0 '10 Chevy Celta for a couple of…
Does anyone miss the days when the Murano looked like a jacked up family version of the 350Z and even had the same basic engine? I know I do.
I'm just going to give one little tip: If you'r going to buy a Renegade, DO NOT get the one built in Brazil. Really bad build quality. My mother had a Brazilian built Civic once and the thing rattled and it felt so cheaply built, even from the door closing sound. She then got a same gen USDM Civic and it felt like a…
He even makes those facts awesome
You have to remember this is a beater battle and not about the most fun, tyre burning, power machine. The CRX can be a sensible little econohatch, while the Mustang, besided drinking gas like no tomorrow, isn't as reliable as a small Japanese car.
Looks like a Dart had some private time with either a Focus or a Mazda 3. DNA tests are inconclusive for who the father is.
And to think that I live 10min away from the owner of that Pagani Zonda 760RS and got a friend who once dated the daughter. Only seen the car twice. Once on the highway going the opposite direction. Almost snapped my neck looking at it go by me (and almost crashed). Another time I was right behind it on a red light…
I voted for the 505 because of three reasons:
1. Diesel manual RWD Brown Wagon Wagon/Turbo Manual RWD Brown Wagon (both very Jalop picks)
2. It is the logical option. Cheaper to mantain and parts are everywhere.
3. Its an old Peugeot. What could go wrong?
Otro chileno en Jalopnik? :0!
C-H-I
Love how the girl is like "guys, this isn't funny" while the dudes giggle their asses off.
My father daily drives a Porsche 911 997 C4S with Sport Chrono package and a 6 speed manual. After driving it myself various times, it is such an amazing experience to shift it. Going through a mountain road with amazing turns and banks (and no one drives through it because its the long, gas spending way into the…
I read a story somewhere (maybe on Jalopnik?) that after some guys were following Ralph Lauren driving his Bugatti Veyron, he stopped and showed them the car just like one gearhead to another. What I know is that thanks to him, I've seen and heard a Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic in action. And there's more. Automatch Tom:
The new Dart is actually a damn good car in its class. My mother owns a Rallye model and its more fun to drive than a car in that class deserves to be. Maybe the name is plain wrong, since it reminds us of the V8s of yore, but that doesn't mean it deserves to be crushed!
Thats a feature I absolutely fell in love with when I first drove it at night :P
Bring it to Chile, I'll take good care of it :P
(Though I'm pretty sure there may be extradition)
Somewhat related: on YouTube there is a video of a red 1st gen Viper crashing on a highway back in '06. That was filmed here! It gave me the sads :(
In my old Korando beater, it was truly impossible to get into 1st gear from neutral without grinding, even if I was clutching through the floor, the only way to put 1st was from 2nd gear. It sure made people next to me think I couldn't drive.
Yesterday something as embarassing happened while showing my best friend my…
