    This does not negate that the inclusion of petroleum in the product makes it different than any other liquid soap on the market, which is why I asked the question in the first place. They put something in it that does not naturally occur in other formulas of dish soap. End of story.

    I amend. They are reluctant to admit it. They say less than 1/7 of it is made of petroleum.

    Did you not read the NPR story? P&G won't admit it:

    Dawn is different than other surfactants due to the amount of petroleum used in making it. This is why it can be used to clean oil soaked animals when other products don't work. This is a very valid reason to ask if the use of this particular dish soap would have different results than others.
