Love “Oye Como Va”.
Love “Oye Como Va”.
From Joe Strummer’s wandering the desert years. A bootlegged show from his late 80’s band Latino Rockabilly War. Cued up to a high energy cover of Oye Como Va. (if not it starts at 10:00min)
Merle covered this and made it popular, but the man that wrote the song did it much better. The story of Blaze is both bizarre and tragic, but his music, including this gem, will live on beautifully. Enjoy!
If memory serves, Candlebox tour shirts were second to Offspring’s Smash shirts among the eighth grade rock fans back when (93-4 school year).
Hang in there. Christmas break draws near.
Very nice, very nice. I was going to post this night night, but a family dog, weekend vet emergency at my daughter’s house kept me late. Stroke, seizure, who knows? (Likely caused by sitting with us watching the Saints win a game.) Sublime. What I Got.
“Rhymes running wild like a child in a walker.” Inspectah Deck is so, so good.
Common: off the most excellent ‘like water for chocolate’.
Did someone say Midnight Oil?
Bugs, you say? Here’s “Dragonfly” from early Fleetwood Mac.
Burning the midnight oil, like me? Serj will keep us awake:
Crowded House - Don’t dream that it’s over
My man Jeff Buckley loved MC5 ( doesn’t everyone?) and he often played “Kick Out The Jams” at his shows.
When I saw the power duo open for STP on the Tiny Music... tour at the Milwaukee Arena — one of only three arena shows I have seen; the others, Meat Loaf (yikes) & Pearl Jam — the lead singer called out his mother in the crowd, who drove up from Zion, & claimed this was her favorite of his songs.
Helium. Pats trick
A gem.
Audioslave with a live version of “Show Me How To Live”.
