I loved the YA series Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. First one is Cinder. Each book is loosely based on a fairy tale (but futuristic adventure). Cyborg named Cinder who goes to the ball to meet the prince and warn him of danger looses her whole foot running from palace at midnight :)
