I was agreeing with you, if with a really poorly worded response. I dont think the creepiness of the material should be used as an excuse to mack on women without their consent.

I know you think you’re making an amazing point here, but the fact that actresses agreed to perform in material provided to them doesn’t make the material itself less problematic or exculpate its author. The casting couch is awful, jokes about the casting couch are awful, people who make jokes about the casting couch…
wow so it’s part of a larger culture that doesn’t value consent and thinks of women as objects? why, that totally exonerates him!!!
I met Al when he came to Iraq during my first deployment, toward the end of 2005. I went to lunch with the group he was with, and got more hugs from him than I would have expected.
Nothing about any of this surprised me. I really wish men would listen to what people are telling them and re-evaluate, and offer sincere…
That sort of behavior is beyond scary and gross. Many women, including myself, would probably have been more than a little freaked out by that sort of thing, so I’m genuinely glad that you weren’t bothered by it.
I mean, in the absence of other information, it certainly makes sense to for institutional reputation to be a deciding factor when deciding who you believe is more credible in a dispute like this. But this particular article is pretty full of detail about the interactions between all the parties, and its explanations…
Yeah, this article was weird all around. Mayer’s angle is that Franken was railroaded. Problem is, she doesn’t have the story.
I read the article. I’m very liberal in my politics, liked Franken & loved that he backed Jeff Sessions into a corner. I believe the women. He obviously is one of those touchy feely grabby guys just like Bush senior was. I play cards with a group & one of the husbands is always trying to hug me & put his arm around…
It sucks being a liberal and actually caring to mince the details of what someone did.
Hateful Eight is easily the worst movie I’ve ever seen in the theater. I’m having a hard time coming up with a worse movie period (that wasn’t a straight to video situation), so it may win that award too. Truly a fucking awful movie with no point.
I am ashamed to say I bought tickets for this movie for Sunday. At a horrible corporate theater that recently did an underhand takeover of a beloved local theater. It is a good friend’s birthday, and that is what she wanted to do and I missed her birthday the last 3 years so I wanted to go with but ugh. I hate giving…
I said solitary prison cell, not solitary confinement. He has to be separated from general pop or else he’ll get murdered. Perhaps I should have said “lonely” instead.
I saw a commercial for this movie that referred to it as “Tarantino’s masterpiece” and my first thought was, “no, that’s Jackie Brown”.
It really is the best one and so underrated.
Or work release! Amirite?
Eh the death penalty is barbaric, even for monsters such as this. I hope he dies after many years in a depressing solitary prison cell with only his thoughts. If anything, him killing himself is too quick of an out.
Faked suicide attempt to try to get house arrest. If it had been a hit attempt, he’d already be dead.
It’s been downhill since Jackie Brown (his best movie by far).
We would never hear the end of how the Clintons had him killed.
THOSE are the women I want to hear from. Those are the women we need to reach (if that is even possible).
