I remember kids being bused to my school, which wasn’t a great place, so it always seemed weird that anyone had to suffer a commute to go to it. I think the administration could have handled the whole thing a lot better. There was a big culture clash between the kids and very few efforts made to build any bridges…
I can see that: it would be the ultimate control. I can also see them subconsciously wanting to punish her for daring to question them, and that’s why they chose to lie.
This reminds me of silent film star Wallace Reid; if you like Hugh Jackman you will probably find him gorgeous. He died of morphine addiction in 1923, and the standard story (not totally proven, but it makes sense) is that he was injured doing a stunt on location and the studio doctor started him on morphine so they…
This is the same DA that refused to bring charges against Weinstein even though the NYPD and the victim got tape of Weinstein admitting to it. https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2017/10/10/16454182/cyrus-vance-harvey-weinstein-ivanka-donald-trump-junior-prosecute-donations-write-in
It’s disgusting that the statute of limitations for this is only one year.
I just heard an episode on the Reveal podcast involving another young gymnast and a coach who appears to be a serial abuser. The episode (there’s also a written version of the story) discusses how rarely abusers are ever punished in the criminal justice system, mostly because prosecutors frequently decline to take the…
Good heavens.
I never realized that Kim Carnes started out writing for the Sugar Bears.
Some of these pictures look beyond sleepy. Hangover?
This reminds me of the discussion after my dormmates and I saw the hideous post-apocalyptic misogy-fest film, “A Boy and his Dog” (starring a young Don Johnson, pre-Miami Vice, and based on a novel by the deeelightful groper Harlan Ellison). The most socially awkward geeks, who I had thought were gentle souls, started…
It’s hard to believe this is an actual quote, but there it was, right in the article: “This is America and that’s one of our rights and we should be allowed them rights”
Farmer actually was not
I’m so sorry—I just went through the same thing. We did get lucky for a while with new medicine, though, so I hope the best for you and your kitty!
Thank you. I read that years ago and have been bothered by it ever since. The story was actually even worse than I remembered. I doubt it has ever even crossed Dustin’s mind that he 1) committed rape, and that 2) his victim could very well have been sexually abused in childhood, as many “nymphomaniacs” are.
According to this column (by an anti-Scientology writer, but it’s backed up with some evidence), the rape happened at a party. But it was in an upstairs room, so, yeah, I’m not sure why some party guests’ word is being taken over the victim’s. https://tonyortega.org/2017/03/03/lapd-probing-scientology-and-danny-masters…
Incidentally, my neighbor’s cat is named Loki, so now I’m picturing a cat whose mind is a bag of cats.
She also worked with a dance company that specializes in this, and puts a heavy emphasis on safety. She didn’t just hook on some cables by herself.
