if any of you can understand italian, there is the best album ever about jesus: la buona novella by fabrizio de andrè. it's a beautiful album that tells the story of jesus from the moment mary was left at the temple to the dead of her son, it's kind of a variation of the new testament with a more "human" frame.

Sometimes it seems to me that the writer are setting rafael up to be a villain, more so when he lies like this (and emotionally manipulates the women in his life to do as he wants).
