This is some gatekeeping bullshit you should be ashamed of.

Why are you even here? You’re not a car enthusiast. This is a site for car enthusiasts.

It’s likely the suppliers are under strict contracts to provide GM/Ford parts at pre-negotiated prices. If GM/Ford go to other that might violate the contract. As well the other suppliers that could make the parts are going to be well aware why they are being approached so you can bet they will want a premium to take

Every 5 series ever made is generic. That's the point. If it was too wild you'd be upset too.

That reddit user is clearly a child, as they don’t seem to understand how network traffic works. This is taking me back 20 years to when I first got cable internet: everything old is new again.

#7 spoke to me.

Well I was interested in the new GM EVs.

Hey this car you sold me keeps catching fire.

Weak list.

Neutral: Lizard brain. I do want an EV, but I just can’t shake this feeling that I’ll regret not buying a great sports car; and by that I mean something like a Boxster Spyder, 911 GTS, C8 Z06, etc. I’ve made it to where buying a car like that isn’t just a dream, but within my grasp; but the common sense and careful

The ELR wasn’t a bad car. It was just overpriced.

An insane time, holy shit. Just another hypercar i will never see.

Would it kill you to mention Glickenhaus? They’re in it after all, fielding 2 cars in LMH...

China’s first electric supercar?

And if you count he Bolt UEV as another model, then they sell 4, which is (checks notes) the exact same amount of models as Tesla.

“Right now there are only two: the Cadillac Lyriq and GMC Hummer EV”

GM has plans to bring 30 new EVs to the market by 2024. Right now there are only two: the Cadillac Lyriq and GMC Hummer EV, so they better get a move on.”

I think GM is doing the whole EV thing right. They have a great CEO. She has spent a lifetime in the industry and probably has a more realistic idea of what it takes to rollout new platforms.  Their new EV platform was meant to be more easily updated as far as whatever future might happen with batteries and their form

but can GM beat Hyundai? seems like they are doing a better job of taking on tesla.

I hope she is right, even if GM only meets 50% target by 2025.
