Do you know the number? I’m taking my nephew in a few weeks and I don’t want him to hear this kind of garbage.

My mother is from Texas but has at this point spent more of her life in Boston, she is adamantly for gun control. Maybe don’t perpetuate shitty stereotypes and you wont be the victim of them?
I say this as a Bostonian, born and bred, it doesn’t matter. Pointing the finger and saying “but you’re more racist!” doesn’t solve the fact that there is racism in Boston. Let’s be better, let’s look inwards and solve our own problems instead of pointing fingers whilst burying our heads in the sand.
Went to a Yankees Sox game with my parents in ‘04 and we sat in the bleachers, in the fourth inning a battery whiized between me and my mother’s heads. She said “I’m never sitting in the cheap seats again.” Last time we went as a family we sat two rows from home plate. Thanks hooligans!
This. I am a sox fan from Boston and the only thing I feel about this incident is shame. I do not feel victimized. Jones is the only person in this story who should, because he was the only person who was.
You were so, so close.
I kind of think that defense can be made of Fenway too? I grew up near the park and those areas are no-go for slurs. Doesn’t excuse the shitbag behaviour of the attendees, and it doesn’t mean this incident isn’t a time for self reflection for the citizens of Boston.
This is so true. I grew up in Boston and I didn’t hear of the reputation until I was in my 20s. I saw it first hand shortly afterwards. It shouldn’t matter to Bostonians if we are perceived as racist, it should matter if we ARE racist. A lot of people forget that and as a bit of a homer it breaks my heart.
We got robbed and we still have better art than you.
This is the definition of mansplained.
All career politicians do, it’s practically a job requirement. So not only is she a bit of an asshole, she’s also totally naive.
bingo.
So cute! Glad he is doing well! Also, are those his paintings? The bottom one looks like a Sam Francis, you’ve got an artist in the family!
My dad always says the best thing he learned in the navy was how to sew.
This. My dad has dementia and when people find out they always say some version of “I’m sorry, that must be so hard.” Honestly? It sucks but we will be fine, we will deal with it because we have good healthcare, a tight-knit family, and other resources. It breaks my heart to think about what happens to low-income…
So sorry for your loss. When I was in grade school we took a field trip to the cardiac center in our local children’s hospital (classmate’s mom was a nurse there) and it was really eye opening and inspiring. You reminded me that it’s been a while since I donated to them, I will remedy that, thank you.
It is in no way a political stance, it’s a human one. Those fuckers are assholes.
That kind of thinking doesn’t solve the issue in the slightest. I grew up in a church where the congregation was lousy with millionaires and included a few billionaires so if I get sick under this plan I get great care. I should mention this is in a heathen, bright blue, sanctuary city and said church is Unitarian.…
i like the cut of your jib!
I can confirm the food scales thing. She did it at dinner with some family friends who produced a show she starred in years ago.
