WOW that was ballsy of her. Using YOUR event to Introduce the baby to the family!!!! Isn’t that what the ridiculous and expensive gift grabs known as baby showers are for? Or did she have one ( or two or three ) of those as well?

Let the kid starve or TELL the parents point blank bring little Jimmy/s soy based paleo gluten free quasi vegan blue plate specials with them!!!!!! I was lucky my kids eat EVERTHING!

You tried honey and I think you were very considerate. But your Mom was right! there is always the relative who’s special little snowflake has to be velcroed to their side because god for bid the child eat sugar, or play with a "free range" child and get ideas or use non-organic crayons ( yes that's a thing). I had a

Yeah and what is the kid is a picky eater and suddenly the carefully crafted menu has to scrounge up chicken fingers or mac and cheese :p

Exactly right! Hell half the time the kids don’t WANT to go to a wedding were they are forced to dress up and are expected to be on best behavior on front of a tone of people they don’t know! I think adult only weddings and receptions are an excellent idea. I had a cousin who knew that she wanted only adults and so

Try a 38 year 4 wedding bride. Yup Registery! For a surround sound system, riding lawn mower etc. Big ticket items! Nope will send a donation to a charity of MY choice in their name. They have household full of stuff anyway!!!!!

AMEN!!!!!

I have used different popcorn topping flavours instead of salt and they were delish, I also used prepared honey mustard , lowered the cooking temp but lengthened the cooking time and while a little soggier they went well in sandwiches. just my two cents

Weird Alice from Finance. OMG that’s ME!!!!! I’m the one that gets invited to all the showers in the building . Only I’m not in finance..... And I hate Applebees. :p

Oh Honey You Cook Dragon eggs in the Sous-vide ;) ;)

WEll PLayed !!!!! You Know I blame the wedding shows and wedding planners ( some so famous that they have shows of their own) For the ridiculous and outrageous weddings that are becoming the norm. Everything has to have a "theme", multiple costume changes, entertainment venues, multiple bars (bacon mashed postatoe

Your Mom has Class! That’s brilliant

Actually a couple of these "events" where held in other towns or cities so there was the added lack of incentive due to travel time and costs. And I love giving presents to my nieces, nephews, cousins , god kids etc. People i see fairly regularly or at least have a connection with. Please don't think I'm cheap But

So It's a Manitoba thing?

I love this post

You want to hear tacky.... Two days ago I got an e-invite to a 50th wedding anniversary. But get this. The couple has only been married 36 years, They are “celebrating the possibilities” because the “bride” had a scare with breast cancer. Oh Yeah ..... They are registered and like the lady on another thread they are

AMEN!!!!!
