Microsoft let me make an iso image from the Windows 8 files that it had downloaded. I was able to do a clean install and at no point did it ask for my Windows 7 product key or anything. I don't think it even checked if my Windows 7 was genuine when I bought the upgrade key.

Not necessarily because devs/publishers can use whatever DRM they want on the games published on Steam. Also I've only hear negative stuff about the offline mode. However, I'm pretty much always connected to the internet on my computer that uses Steam so I can't comment on that.

I doubt there's any program like that that can do it efficiently enough.

I don't see how they can use similar programming because with copyrighted videos Youtube already has the original copyrighted video and it samples it with other uploaded videos by users.

I'm pretty sure Facebook doesn't want 12 or 13 year old girl's breasts on their website. But you do realise how damn big Facebook is? You can't expect them to be able to filter out everyone instantaneously.
