Understood - I picked the game up during lockdown and at this point have dumped 220+ hours into it and don’t really see any sign of stopping. It’s by and away my favorite competitive shooter and this is coming off the back of 10+ years with CS, 10+ years with CoD and Halo, and a smattering of one offs.
Maturity of the writing (or lack of it) aside, what was confusing?
30 years of war in an enclosed valley with limited resources. The ship leadership have gone fascist and the other faction have gone mad max thunderdome.
I’m not really sure why EA and other companies have a reputation for MTX in their games and Valve doesn’t (beyond the CS knife skin and Hat Fortress 2 memes).
The voice acting and writing was absolutely abysmal. The shooting mechanics were ok, but the demo just felt really unpolished.
Imagine if EA had tried to pull something like this. The white hot fury that would have poured forth would have solved the world energy crisis.
I agree, the entire tradeable card game model is shitty.
It was shitty all around. The economy was trash and the game was somehow worse. It was both utterly boring while having way too much going on at once. Each card game I have played have some sort of redeeming qualities, even the bad ones. This one had none whatsoever

Oh boy, more raids. I don’t know about anyone else, but those were one of the least interesting parts of the game to me. All the fun of opening chests without interesting loot, and you had to bring your boat along to have enough people to open them.
