I grew up in a gentrifying neighborhood and now live in another one. The only thing i’ve learned is that the moneyed interests don’t give a fuck and the activists are god-awful at building a meaningful coalition. I’ve seen activists berate lifelong community members for opening up the wrong kind of business.

Dunham is probably excusing a rapist but it’s intentionally shitty to cut her statement up to avoid that she claims to have insider knowledge proving his innocence.
