However without messing with ANYTHING (including wifi, but bluetooth off obviously) I routinely get a day and a half at least of battery life with my iphone. So it's sort of a straw man…

YES. This is the reason why I switched to iOS (and then to android) from pre-nodo. And non carrier obstructed updates were one of the big selling points prior to launch of WP7! Microsoft just needs to accept they can't release without stepping over themselves.

Totally agreed. My strategy with the fallout games has been purchase for xbox 360 and play through vanilla and then wait for the GOTY version to hit like, 20$ on steam a year later. So more legal but I think the bootleg version is perfectly acceptable as well.

It's just a question of resolution. I use a dell 2407 ultrasharp and it is... ultra sharp at 1920x1200 resolution. Most consumer grade models top out at 1080p, and the lack of horizontal lines on a large monitor is (to me) very noticeable.
