Some workers got a good deal I’m sure, especially part-timers and lower volume facilities. But those of us who never miss work without using vacation or PTO, were looking forward to stocks vesting, and already were making $15/hr or close to it (some entry level shifts in my facility already started at $17-18 and the

Ah, OK. I’ve used Paypal for business for 18 years and also use it for “send money to a friend” with $0 fee (since I can use my balance and always have one). So I never really needed an alternative. Plus I don’t do many shared expense social activities.

Normal Amazon employees always got RSUs, which aren’t really options and certainly have a list of cons to go along with them, but were part of the initial job offer compensation package and part of the “total compensation” that was touted at every meeting they’ve ever had. When you get hired you get a Morgan Stanley

At least the Amazon robots malfunction constantly, so I expect them to continue to have some low-wage humans to be on call to fix the robots. When they obsess over things like the cost of tape and use technology from last decade on everything else, I really wonder how fast they will be at bringing in the latest in

I think they’ve been pretty positive about this compared to other reporting on amazon, especially when this is resulting in pay cuts for Christmas.

To clarify: These are actual changes that have happened and been communicated (for my job at an Amazon FC). I got the bonus every month since I’ve been employed and I have a Morgan Stanley account with unvested shares sitting in it. So eliminating the monthly bonus that has been 50% guaranteed just for showing up in

Gizmodo censors me because I actually work at Amazon and I called them out when they lied/exaggerated about how bad some Amazon policies were before this week and now they lie/exaggerate about how GOOD Amazon is this week.

I work in an Amazon warehouse and just got a pay cut in time for the holidays. The stock RSUs and monthly bonus they cut were a lot more than the raise. Half of our monthly bonus was based on attendance, and it was doubled for Oct/Nov/Dec. So (as they sold it for years) you got a minimum 8% bonus for “showing up.” We

I’m 40 and don’t even know what Venmo is. Is that like a cooler Paypal the kids use these days?

Monsters. What’s next? Are you going to tell me they shop at Amazon? Or buy Nikes made in sweatshops?

“Pummeled emotionally—and ready to fuck.” Then she made a joke about “men jerking off and crying.”

My facility was already starting at $15. They bumped everyone up hourly but cut our bonuses just in time for Nov/Dec, which means I will make $300-400 less over the holidays than last year for the same work, and they are taking away our stock RSUs.

Looks like he has a high amount of that bad fat that is inside around the organs.

Amazon gave us a pay CUTS for the holidays at my facility. Ask me about it. Seriously, everyone is upset after what we found out at the meeting. Many of us are losing our monthly bonuses that we get every month for showing up and stocks. In exchange we get a fraction of our normal incentives in an hourly increase.

Because they won’t. Servers in the same place make different amounts. I know some that make $100/hr on a good night and maybe $15/hr on a bad night, but in some places a few hundred bucks for a 4-5 hour dinner shift is fairly common. Then you have others who struggle and don’t make as much. Try giving all those

I don’t qualify for food stamps (and have already posted numerous times how an Amazon worker where I live would have to be a single parent of 7 kids, work part-time or turn down full-time work to qualify) but I do qualify for Medicaid and energy assistance programs and can really only afford insurance if I make around

They are not “doubly the hourly wage” of anyone. Most warehouse workers make $12-19/hr and some warehouses are already over $15 facility wide. There are no $7.25 employees. No one one would do that job.

Nah, they will just increase the productivity standards and offer more “Voluntary Time Off” to workers. Having the customers pay more is the last thing they would accept.

They claim everyone is getting raises, which is good because our warehouse was already over $15. I guess I will find out from the big people today, I hope.

I work with people who actually want that, probably because some of them drive well over an hour each way to make $15 and some shifts are 12 hrs.
