You really need multiple people to meet all of those needs. That conflicts with a lot of marital expectations. I could see marriage working when both parties understand that it’s too much to ask of your spouse to be everything in your life, but why bother?

I think marriage is a bad deal for all parties, anyway. The less woman need marriage and the more men can let go of their overly romantic delusions, the better.

I reluctantly took a low level job at one of the companies mentioned and their stock was one of the supposed selling points.
