I don't think Moonlight was intended by Jenkins to be Oscar bait in the way that Carol and Manchester by the Sea obviously were. Of course the makes of those two movies had to know in advance how their movies would be received. Expectations, glowing reviews without reviewers having seen it, etc. The subject matter did

Why don't movies like this open on 1,500 screens? I hate having to wait months and months to see adult movies.

That kid is NOT in charge. Hold your mud…the real mastermind behind this all will be revealed three seasons from now.

I say she should take them off. They don't look to be comfortable at all.

La LA Land is better than Moonlight. LLL tries to do more and accomplishes it. Moonlight accomplishes what it set out to do but didn't try to do as much. I think its unfair to even compare the two or put them both up for the same award because they are such different pictures.

I noticed how weird Rosita's legs look being so skinny and being forced to wear skinny jeans. The same skinny jeans she's been wearing for weeks and never get dirty or worn.

Me too!!

No. Destruction followed every where we went. We are asking for it.

YES! That is the point of the film! The love story between two struggling artists who finally have a chance to realize their dream but have to make a great sacrifice. La La Land is not a jazz movie.

Good. I am trying to determine if Arrival is the best movie of the year over Rogue One (though I haven't seen Hacksaw Ridge or Hell or High Water).

If you don't love La La Land you are not dead inside. But if you didn't leave the theater feeling some positive emotion you may be. However, if you didn't love Emma Stone in this you are most certainly are dead inside.

La La Land IS a happy movie. Mia and Sebastian are happy with the choice they made to break up and pursue their dreams, and are content with where they are in life personally and professionally. This movie never crossed the threshold from very good to great for me but I felt happy while I watched the movie and left

Because Stephanie Meyer is a lousy writer?

Edward was/is 17.

Be cause the Cullens wanted to live normal human lives and to do that had to pretend to be the age they were when they were turned into vampires. The Volturi didn't so they lived in a giant cellar.

Like what? I think the movie's great. My only complaint is that the score wasn't good ( not nearly as bad as Force Awakens score however).

Don't get the boycott. A lot of white men involved in the movie, both behind the camera and in front of it.

Casino is terrible. Overly long and boring. Typical Scorcese.

I noticed too how shortly into the film it stopped trying to be a musical and that is my one problem with the movie.

I just came out of Manchester and I agree with you, the movie did nothing for me either. Affleck was nothing special. He acted the way I thought he would.
