I had Noosa extensively for about two weeks when I was doing long hours on-site and didn’t have much in the way of cooking facilities. The chunks of fruit are fantastic. Too bad it’s about 2x more expensive than the Chobani I usually have.

Liberté sounds interesting though; I want to hear more about this Ecuadorian

Now playing

Why are we blaming Rosenthal? We should be talking to the catcher.

It is, basically. Wafuu means Japanese-style; there’s also Oufuu, which is European-style. But they’re both Japanese creations/interpretations. The kind of Japanese curry we usually think of is wafuu, with the European-style being slightly closer to beef bouillon/stew, served in a pourer, sold in fancier “French-style

The Iowa Tenderloin Trail—giddy up!—is a route prescribed by the Iowa Pork Producers Association, made up of 14 destinations across the Hawkeye State. Should pilgrims be fortunate enough to make it to 10 or more of the map’s tenderloin institutions, a commemorative shirt will be bestowed upon them,

These two dudes will at least get you past the first round.

I talk English good.

No player comes as close to matching Curry’s range or freakish combination of shooting ability and confidence, but to even make such a comparison unfairly cheapens what Lillard is capable of. K2 may not be quite as tall as Everest, but it’s still pretty goddamn tall, you know?

How do you expect good judgment from a guy who signed the final big contract of his career before free agency opened to stay in OKC with Russ, rather than taking meetings with any number of other teams in free agency—Philly, Lakers, Nuggets—that would’ve given him a better chance of winning a championship?

I like to live dangerously: when I make burgers at home, I do both onion rings and sweet potato fries.

Wendy’s Spicy Chicken is really good. They used to have a BOGO coupon their app that I made use of to no end.  Their grilled chicken isn’t bad either, if I’m feeling a little guilty.

Hawaiian Mac Salad.

I’m usually a fan of putting a large onion ring on my burger and then putting an over-medium fried egg inside the ring. It keeps the egg in place and gives you additional flavor for the same amount of space.

In the burger and fries category, I’d put up Checkers/Rally’s Big Buford and Seasoned Fries against anybody.

I feel like this is where I dig up the Gretchen Weiners fetch .gif from Mean Girls.

As someone who primarily values potatoes when their fried surface area is maximized, I’m gonna say:

Once you cast French fries (and similar potato options, like tater tots) aside,

Onion Rings. (Beer Battered)

Also Acceptable: Beer

Grilled spam plus some sticky rice and some nori gets you some spam musubi. It’s not always the answer, but it’s a great one when it is.

Goodness, why hasn’t Michael Symon tried this?

Challenge Proposal: I think it’d be interesting to create a sandwich of chicken-fried layers that look the same—bologna, green tomato, eggplant, pineapple (?), portobello mushroom—and just stack them all in a sandwich. The challenge will be for someone to take a bite

What’s the spot, may I ask? I’d love to check it out when I’m in Tokyo next!

As for me, I have friends in Japan who are far more expert on curry than I am, but I like the mini-chain Camp a great deal, and I really enjoyed the curry I got at Land in Meguro too.
