Do not encourage me. I need to shop there the other months out of the year.

I went to my local grocery store yesterday and THEY HAD CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS AND CHRISTMAS BASKETS OUT. I wanted to just rip it all off the walls and throw it on the floor and yell "THANKSGIVING LIVES!"

If it comes to your city, make the effort to go. You can see better detail in that iPad app, but together in a room, they are really striking. I had never seen these before - very cool.

My husband and I saw this exhibit recently. There was a whole section on mourning versions of the Lover's Eye that were really amazing. There's a free iPad app that lets you look at the entire exhibit in detail.

Yeah. It's that curse where musicians who depend on overproduced showmanship don't fare well on a cramped live stage.

I have so many soft-tissue injuries from the neck down - most of them in my hips and calves - that if I wore high heels of any height, my PT would swoop out of my peripheral vision and beat the bejeezus out of me. (Or, more likely, make my next session about correcting what I screwed up.)

Red Fox? Oh yeah, it's a fancy-dinner kinda place.

Cream of Peanut soup isn't really sweet either - I was going more for the creamy texture when using the peanut butter analogy. Maybe the best peanut butter you've ever had is a better version. :)

With the oil in the puree, that doesn't happen. I have never had the "tomato water" float to the top - guess the oil acts like an emulsifier.

I just got marrow spoons. Does this give me a tactical edge, or are they a liability?

Mmmmmm - tripe in Pho.

This is the Colonial Williamsburg version - it's really a Cream of Peanut soup when you get down to it. So think of, say, the richest peanut butter ice cream you've ever had, but make it a warm soup.

Sadly, a place long closed down. This was when I was younger. (They also made this heavenly bread with toasted sunflower seeds that was incredible. *sigh*)

I can't claim I knew exactly what a "basic bitch" is...but I did know that it was a term that didn't belong to me (a middle-class, middle-aged white woman).

Conch is SO good. They make fritters out of it, which have to be done correctly, otherwise it's just a mess. Conch chowder is a broth-based chowder, but it's usually spicy. There was a restaurant we used to go to in Ft. Lauderdale that put it on salad - divine.

Hmmm - does conch chowder fall into the realm of soups you haven't tried, or broth-based soups? It's pretty good stuff when it's made right.

Dude, next time you're back in the DC area, go to The Red Fox Inn & Tavern in Middleburg. It's a schlep out 66 to be certain, but I doubt you've never had their Peanut Soup. It is anything but meh (unlike the stuff you get in Colonial Williamsburg, which is definitively meh.)

Oh no, totally. I'm not saying that play was his fault. Just his attitude that seemed as if the crap refereeing had nothing to do with it.
