I went to Lilith twice. First time was in philly where people around us were like, “who the hell are the Dixie chicks?”

I found it interesting that they said it wasn’t for lack of trying, and to question the artists who said no. And when I think about that period in time, there likely were artists who did not want to be associated - for a variety of reasons, including balking at a ‘chick fest’ (a problem Lollapalooza would not have…
Wait. Sarah McLachlan is some sort of artist? I thought she was this person whose job was to make me all sad, depressed, and suicidal over animals.
The show promotes rape culture? I think that’s a bit of a stretch, as is the notion that in 2017 it is taboo to discuss rape culture. It’s quite the opposite, it’s mainstream, at least in liberal circles such as ours. It’s not taboo simply because there is push back from the right, conservatives, and MRA types.
I have to share this awesome youtube channel with you guys. Costume Cinematographico videos break down the costumes of game of thrones. There is episode for Noble houses of Westeros and some of female characters.
I felt like the chief objection to Sansa’s rape was that they panned the camera to Theon’s reaction, as if the trauma was his and not hers. In the long term, they did recover from that unfortunate directing choice and bear out the full weight of what Sansa went through from her POV. It’s still frustrating that most…
This is why Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul are so good. One person writes an episode, but then the entire writer’s room goes thru it, then they get notes when they shoot, notes during editing. It is a team effort and you end up with fantastic television.
Brilliant, I am kindly requesting that you never, ever respond to any comment that LocomotiveJones makes. He is a notorious troll around here who has been banned several times. However, he always comes back and starts off innocently enough so that people ungrey him, and then he unleashes his hateful bile.
I advocate for west Texas/New Mexico next. Louisiana worked because it is a very unique place that most people in the US don’t even realize how weird it is. Making it southern California made it pretty damned boring, because there was much less mystique to it.
The cast of TD S2 wasn’t the main problem. It was the writing. The story made no sense. I work in real estate and I get bored getting into the weeds of a deal, so I can imagine the viewers loved hearing about zoning and easements. Even with the murder and weird sex there was nothing to care about.
I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but yours is wrong.
the second season was hurt because there was no Cary Fukanaga.
Look at that smile. He is a ray of sunshine.
Coincidentally, he’s also what Luke Cage needed for at least half a season to build sufficient quantities goodwill to excuse what became a mess of a show after Ali left.
Why not both? Why. Not. Both.
The reason Ali should be cast is that 1) he’s good and 2) we want to see him all the time.
It looks like my Dad AirBnB’d T. Swift’s place with his buddies for the Holiday weekend
I’m afraid in that big Celine Dion word salad people will scan and miss the phrase “dancing and curtseying and generally gesticulating sans abandon”.
I wish she could read New Yorker articles to me every night.
You really nailed it Bobby. She was the best part of this season and on a whole other level of acting. I watched the last 4 eps on the weekend and could not wait to see what she did next.
