She’s been good in pretty much everything she does bar the X-Men films that aren’t First Class. Plus she’s not even 30 yet, she’s got a potentially long career ahead of her. Scarlett Johansson did about three good films out of the dozens she was in from 2004 to 2011, and I’d still call her a very good actress at her

Out on my birthday. I approve.

Yeah, this one felt a bit all over the shop when it came to the topical commentary. The Terrence Malick and Cheers and Jeers lines were great though.

The Knights That Say Ni would really hate this film.

Can’t wait for the HAL 9000 origin series!

Go Giants this season! Hopefully the Cowboys or Patriots don’t win the Super Bowl anyway.

I’m also looking forward to the new Cut Copy album, thought Free Your Mind was rather underrated

September and October for new album releases

Really hope that Mother! is good because Aronofsky at his best is amazing and because it might shut up the ‘I don’t like Jennifer Lawrence’ pillocks for a while.

They should have got Brendan Gleeson in it though for a Gleeson clean sweep.

Don’t understand why anyone would be grumpy about LCD Soundsystem coming back. So what if they said they were done? James Murphy changed his mind, it’s not like he was suddenly discovered kicking puppies or running R Kelly-style abuse cults. And people who went to the ‘final’ show still got to see a great gig.

James Cameron in being grumpy, argumentative git shocker

Now Will Oldham has trimmed his beard (at least on the evidence of A Ghost Story), Sam Beam surely has the most amazing facial hair in music.

It’s no Dreams, but I quite like it. Kind of wish there were more than 10 tracks on the album considering Dreams and Wow have been around for ages (though I know Dreams is listed as having a different mix on the album).

Linklater being on board plus the fact it’s a sequel to The Last Detail suggests it won’t be as straightforward as that

I don’t think they’ll ever top Songs for the Deaf, but it’s nice to have them back. I like Josh Homme, he seems a bit mad but his heart’s in the right place, he’s like a younger Steve Albini.

Hoping this is good, Linklater has been on a roll the last few years (Before Midnight, Boyhood and Everybody Wants Some were all in my top 5 films of the year)

Wedding night:
‘Wait, you voted for Trump?’

One thing that is wrong about the finale - Claire would never have married that Republican pro-Iraq war guy
