One year, My wife, daughter, and I decided to eat out on Thanksgiving. We drive around to find that everything was closed. In desperation, we finally pulled in to a Luby’s cafeteria. The families there kind of formed a bond in a strange way, like denizens in a refugee camp. We talked and watched the Cowboys game

A visit to one of those is on my list.  I probably can’t enough to make it worth the outlay, but still.

I thought about buying syrups online. Amazon has a big selection. But then I decided that I didn’t need to go that far for how often I make my cappuccino or latte. I also just use coffee creamer in my daily drip coffee. It’s always an option in the future though.

Please tell me my biological clock is off and this is really April 1.

I’m very sorry to read that. I think what we can conclude from this discussion is that experiences can be different and that generalizations based on geographical location may not be accurate.

Pretty much all national chain pizza sauce is too sweet for my tastes.  I just figure they are catering to the lowest common denominator American palate. But I still take Papa John’s over Dominos or Little Caesars.

While we do still have our share of clan members and other bigots, this is not generally the case as long as I’ve lived down here, even in the more rural, good ole boy environs. People may tend to run-in their specific racial or ethnic circles, but most people were raised well enough to not think about race when they

Take your damned star.

Cool feature and interesting article.

Can confirm that this is the kind of environment you find in a Waffle house. If you’re in there and it’s night, you already have the mentality of a group of refugees. I can totally see this happening with the family-ish atmosphere.

That’s exactly what we do.

As many people as there are who love them, there are just as many who rush to shit on them if you give them the chance.

No argument here.  I loved that car to drive and to look at walking away.

I experimented with frothing creamer. It absolutely works. I’d bet your aeroncinno would work too. From my experience I think you’ll get a more stable lasting head if you mix in some milk.

Yeah, my dad bakes his panettone in coffee cans.

I don’t think you fire Fancy Kristen so much as she gives you permission to stop publishing her pronouncements.

Training a new acolyte perhaps.

That sounds good. I may have to try that. Yes, serving size is big and the stuff is packed with sugar. I experimented with my sweetness to coffee ratio by diluting the creamer with milk until I got the right blend.  I also tend more toward a cappuccino like ratio of dairy to coffee than a latte.

So I’m guessing envelopes of powdered mashed potatoes aren’t welcome in this thread?
