That’s interesting. I didn’t know that.

Good times...
Thanks for the link.
I honestly have no idea what percentage of suits are abuse, but even one is too many.
Alas, I am all too aware that abuse is rampant, to the detriment of those who really need accommodation. *sigh*
When I was growing up, Noble Romans was a legitimate pizzeria chain with ever expanding locations. It was easily my favorite restaurant pizza with Chicago and Sicilian style offerings. It’s now a barely recognizable ghost of its former self.
As a paraplegic, I get a bit disgusted when the ADA is used to promote entitlement like this. It makes those of us who want equal opportunities to services look like cry babies that want special perks. A drive through is for cars. If able-bodied people can’t walk up to a window to order without a car, then why…
A good tribute, Jason. Thanks.
Smoking as a percentage of the population has decreased by less than half since I was a teen, despite the price of a pack of cigarettes going up by more than 500% (or more in some states) over that time. Is that terribly effective? It’s good for sure, but smoking is still the number one preventable cause of death in…
I haven’t read all the comments, but I’m going to put in a plug for Mrs. Renfro’s, which is nationally available and comes in several varieties and heats. If you’re not familiar with it, I think you guys would enjoy it as an option to the larger brands tested here.
I would point to your example as an illustration of the opposite. In spite of decades of increased inhibitory influences imposed by government in the form taxes on cigarettes, people continue to smoke in large numbers, and tobacco companies, despite decreased sales, still make profits. That’s pretty cumbersome.
Hard to complain about free stuff though.
Probably because those are the ones the parents took. Gotta pay the parent tax.
Well more education is always better. People in a free society tend to make better decisions when they know more. Not always, but more often.
Good point. I guess we should just give upon that pesky freedom thing, and we’d be all set.
Trying to legislate people’s diets is a really bad idea, not because the goal is not a worthy one, but because government is singularly cumbersome and ineffective at engineering behavior.
It’s a matter of public safety.
Well, we do usually like to have relatives for Thanksgiving dinner...
As a father of a teenager, I can testify that my drinking is directly linked to a reduction in my kid’s chances of traumatic injury.
The problem is that people anthropomorphize animals so much. To people who don’t raise them for a living, it’s akin to eating grandma when she dies of a heart attack so you don’t have to pay for the funeral.
