@SEDAGIVE?!: The point you miss is that morality is followed by many, simply because it is logical to do so. If everyone was out killing or stealing, it would be very counter productive to society, no?

@Sean Reynolds: yes, but here's the thing. It's the best gauge of how the universe works that we know. What you need to understand is that if somehow tomorrow that gravity's existence is proven wrong, then the scientific community will accept that and move on.

@hostile-17: and the key word there is "yet."

@NorwoodIsMyHero: It's not so much faith, as in admitting that there isn't a way to prove it. Yet.

@Cyber Rat: heh. homebrew is kicking ass on the Dreamcast. its the reason we still have new games coming out for it!

@dragon83: certainly it does, but what's the rationale in blocking it off and making it illegal to mess around with your console (which, you know, if gaming was a big enough industry, it would be). As i've mentioned in another thread, That would be just as reasonable as making filesharing and bittorrent illegal,

@PoweredByHentai: Just a question. are you someone who actually produces things on these homebrew platforms? or do you just go online and not find anything you're interested in to download and stick on it and then call it a day?

@Gramma42ton: its honestly more work to write a tutorial than most people really even care to bother to do.

@HitBit: When you buy a ps3, you do not know about the EULA until you connect it to PSN and it prompts you for an update. (well, unless you're OCD and look up everything like me.)

@VisitorG: that would be interesting.

@GodhandX: ah, that is true, (I don't really buy very many downloadable games, for that reason actually. Still not quite sold on digital distribution and not fully owning what I buy.)

@dragon83: and those consoles still exist today, yes? and the industry is far bigger, today than it was then, yes? I have a hard time believing that piracy sales "losses" are as hard as they say they are. especially after we've seen with the movie and music industries.

@HitBit: regardless if they are, It's just as wrong disabling the abilities of legal paying customers, and that includes the homebrew scene.

@PoweredByHentai: no offense, but because you didn't find it useful, it was complete shit and useless?

@Justin42: yep. and they could probably enjoy a class action lawsuit too from manufactures of accessories and gamers that rely on the usb ports to power their controllers, well, at least in Europe where they seem to care about consumers.

To the people that claim piracy, frankly, you have just as much evidence as those that are claiming its not for piracy.

@Mit: looking at the way it works though, it's via a USB exploit, and on startup, It's not the same as any used for the 360.

@jethro1138: as long as it's not manditory to send out? I dont see the problem with that.
