I’m with *insert amusing line here*, can you explain what the hell a Yammie is and then proceed to never call it that again?

The point is that sometimes that doesn’t get the message across. And while we don’t take body checks, we certainly take our fair share of cheap shots. If you want something done right, do it yourself.
Palmieri knew Petry was there but went for it anyway. And it’s hard to call contact minor when it’s skates first against an opponent whose sole focus is stopping the puck. Either way, running the goalie is universally agreed upon as dirty play. All players know the consequences of fucking with the goalie. And this…
If you think goalies don’t get hit back you should watch more hockey. Goalies take shit all game and usually never do a thing because they’re busy stopping pucks.
Yeah those things can really hurt if you punch somebody with the bottom edge. They have a thick, solid plastic face and thus a punch gets all the energy concentrated through that narrow, unforgiving edge.
Goalies aren’t totally immune. Keep your eyes on the goalie during a game and you’ll see how many whacks and runs they take without retaliating, because job #1 is to stop the puck. Goalies are vulnerable to and thus take all kinds of shit because of that focus, but if a goalie fights back then suddenly he’s an asshole.
I just got a 2008 TL to replace my 2003 G35. At 119,000 miles my Infiniti was still fun to drive but creaked, groaned, rattled, squeaked, and generally didn’t inspire confidence. The Acura, however, at 101,000 miles, feels as tight as a new car. It’s not as fun as the Infiniti, but seems faster around corners. The FWD…
Vortex sounds like a guy who’s never commanded more than six cylinders at a time.
I too enjoyed the seats in my dad’s 2013 WRX. Bolstered but not constricting. I did over 1,000 miles in that car and loved every minute of it.
I haven’t found a Ford seat I like on anything they’ve done recently. I took a 6,000 mile road trip in my sister’s sport-package Focus and my back and legs were killing me any time I drove for more than an hour. My dad’s 2007 Mustang has awful seats. My brother’s Focus ST is awful. I’ll admit I haven’t given the…
It seems I’ve finally found somebody else who isn’t sold on the Recaros. They’re just too tight! And the problem only got worse on the way home from Thanksgiving in my thick winter coat, with those added layers it was just awful. And at 5'11" and 165lbs I’m completely average. I have no idea how a bigger guy like Matt…
I had a handed down Caliber as my first car and by god did it make car payments sound good.
Serious question: what is Vegas going to do for a farm team? Not having a minor league affiliate is a huge detriment. I understand they don’t need one to begin with but the earlier they get that going the quicker they can get good. Successful teams require a farm system. Especially for goalies, most of those guys…
I have mixed feelings on their color scheme. But I kind of understand their logic. They had to have gold, obviously. Steel gray is a smart move; it’s a good base color that differentiates without looking tacky. The red is necessary because you need something that pops but doesn’t look as tacky as gold (not that Vegas…
Chevy, Ford, and Dodge will put up a long, tough fight for the V8. Ford’s Voodoo proves that more power is possible. Chevy’s 29mph rating on the Corvette proves economy is possible. Dodge’s “Hemi” proves how badly people love muscle car tropes.
Per the game report from UMass the game had 56(!) fouls, seven yellows and two reds.
I don’t want to just say you’re wrong because life span of a component like this is highly speculative, but everything I’ve been taught says coils should average around 100k. If you can point me to info stating otherwise I would love to read it.
Oh yeah, I think you’re right then. Due to the coil having some system that prevents it from discharging until it requires the proper voltage, it would most likely not discharge if it didn’t reach the required voltage. But I don’t know if it would still discharge, but later, in which case you mess up your ignition…
Nope, ignition coils are not forever pieces. While you shouldn’t expect them to fail, don’t be surprised if they start to go after 100,000 miles.
Pure, outright speculation here but I’d imagine his 25% interest in a company that owns a team takes him out of the running.
