@weatherman: I thought onstar was available on Acuras, wait your point still stands.

I am a little disappointed that you could not lap the other rider.

@Ash78: To be fair, it is exactly what I would expect if somebody put a bunch of men together on an island. Eventually sheep get boring.

@Nick Allain: The police will appreciate that feature.

@Syrax: That is asking a lot for a country that has toilets that flush the wrong way.

@SoK: Please do not include me in this "we" you are referring to. Because clearly this "we" has no idea what "we" is talking about.

If Obama is elected, I predict the day after his inauguration.

So if the workers are French and the police are French, can they both surrender?

@pauljones: The FBW system on the F/A-18 is still hydraulic. The difference is the computer controls the valves on the F/A-18 and on the F-14 mechanical cables control the valves.

@Sloop_John_B: I agree, he has enough experience where he will do well, but I doubt he will have the top time. He will admit he is not the best driver, but part of that is modesty. Jay L is carrying some extra ballast compared to Jay K.

How long is the top gear episode going to be? Clarkson always asks the star's car history is, Jay could go on for a bit.

@Fat Tire: No, all things being equal it can not match a piston engine. This is due to the inherent design of the rotary. The combustion chamber by design has significantly more surface area, so more heat goes to into the engine block and rotor, instead of expanding the gas to produce power. Also there are limits

@Nothing_Now: No, no it does not. Rotaries are not mechanically efficient. As everyone says, it is not how many moving parts, it is how you use them.

Really, if the space shuttle did not exist in reality and this was a scene from movie, people would be saying how amazing that it is. That is just such amazing footage.

@gielamonster: On the lunar rover they had an electric motor for each wheel, but they needed to massive reduction between the motor and the wheel. They used harmonic drives, because they were by far the most compact and lightest way to get massive reductions.

One of the problems with the Kappa platform was that it was designed to be very flexible, so they could make many different models off of the same platform. This way they could make a cheap roadster that would sell in small numbers affordable, because it would share platforms with other niche models. The great thing

I remember when I was a kid, if you asked, you could sit up front with the driver. They had lots of extra seats and the view was excellent. I wonder if they still let people do that, because then Disney is just lucky an entire family was not sittings up front with the driver.

@Mad_Science: I think that it first shows a total lack of fiscal restraint on their part and probably means there are lots of other places the budget could be trimmed.
