That’s because you’re incapable of abstract thought. You should have hired a better teacher growing up. Not my problem.

You are confused. My initial comment doesn’t even mention Kaepernick.
Forget Kaepernick, he’s just the catalyst for putting the thought in my head at this moment in time.
Do you? You can’t create contracts for illegal things and I’m suggesting this should be illegal.

Yes it should be. Wal-Mart should not be able to bully their suppliers and employees. The NFL is in the same boat. It’s not an even playing field at all.
If I hire you to work at my company and give you a 5 year contract, you should expect to be able to work here for 5 years - or receive some compensation at my expense for breaking the contract.
I said it in another response but the whole “contract” saying “no guaranteed contracts unless specified otherwise” is fucking stupid and should not be legal - regardless of negotiation skills.
I realize it’s probably due to the union’s negotiating failures to some extent, but I guess my real question is how that’s legal. You can’t negotiate a murder via contract because it’s illegal. You shouldn’t be able to say “no guaranteed contracts” in a fucking “contract.”
Thanks for confirming I’m still somewhat sane, then.
that’s a good point that I overlooked - the emphasis of my question was more the “how does the NFL get away with this on such a systemic level?” than the poorly thought out hypothetical example. I definitely worded it poorly.
this doesn’t in any way answer my question about the systemic problem that applies to almost all modern NFL players
I understand that but it doesn’t at all address the systemic problem of the NFL running an incredibly unsafe sports league while simultaneously chewing up and spitting players out at will with no repercussions.
This is a shit answer. You’re just deflecting to the agents. The teams are still writing these contracts and it’s almost all players, not just Kaepernick who can be cut without consequence.
How in the ever living fuck is it legal for the NFL to create one-way contracts like this? What prevents a team from just giving max years on every contract and cutting people at will?
See there you go. Dismissing reality as “irrational.” Then do your quasi-wannabe-micdrop and leave as if you were 100% correct and there’s nothing left to say. If I’m not worth your time you shouldn’t have gotten all fired up to spit out a bunch of illogical bullshit in the first place. You’re a week late to this…
You don’t have to do anything, this is just an article for you to read.
I’m not sure you understand the concept of equality. The Cardinals are on a completely different level... and sport.
1. (sometimes initial capital letter) a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.
They’ve also won 3 NLDS series since 1989. You realize that, correct? That’s 27 years. They’ve also won 3 since 2002. You should consider getting your numbers right if you want to be self-righteous.
