@horrorshowjack: I don't know too much about Lyja's tenure with the Fantastic Four. I know she's the Skrull who impersonated Alicia Masters, so Marvel could undue the Johnny Storm steals the Thing's girl friend plot thread. She's part of a triangle with The Human Torch & Crystal, back when the Thing was leading the

@horrorshowjack: Tigra was never a member. She shows up in a story where the Frightful Four is holding auditions for a fourth member, in the Baxter Building, with the Fantastic Four held hostage. She facilitates the Fantastic Four's escape, & then, for reasons I can't remember, hangs around with the Thing & Thundra

Couldn't have been worse than this.

Wouldn't it be great if the Thor film could just be about, you know, Thor? Instead, the film's story has to be compromised to bring it inline with Marvel's ongoing advertising campaign for The Avengers. This is what caused Iron Man II to be such a disappointment. The only Avenger cameo that I would want to see in a

Damn it! Can't I get through one single year without someone bringing up zombie penises? I was so close this time.

Ah man, you mentioned the Chaykin input but only reproduced Anderson's art? Do you just hate me, Ms. Anders? Now I've got to go haunt a comic shop in the hopes of getting a glimpse of Chaykin's John Carter.

@Wookielifeday: It would be nice if Stewart were in the Green Lantern film in some capacity.

@PeterDavid: I think I just had a brush with greatness, on a par with Mike Netzer leaving a comment on my Deviant Art gallery. This has truly been a banner year. Appreciate the anecdote & the response, Mr. David. Been a fan since your run on Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man, back in the mid-80's. Still reading

He's also been dead since 1986. Gave his ring to John Stewart, who's worn it ever since. Nice to see the film is definitely steeped in the history of the source material, & has included such a prominent Green Lantern.

It's like some sinister presence is sabotaging the production at every turn. I wonder if it could be... but, no... he's dead. After all these years, he'd have to be dead. It couldn't be him.

@Xyberfaust: My earlier statement may have been a bit misleading. While this theater is the newest one in my area, it is not brand new. It's been established for several years now. The $5.00 weekday price has been going strong for the last couple of years. It started out just for a.m. shows, but soon took over the

Why, George? Why? Was the convention circuit just not paying well enough anymore?

@Captain_Tripps: I think this particular theater has come to the conclusion that an empty seat generates no revenue, so better some money, than none at all. I think they also reason that since the film is so inexpensive, patrons will still have cash left over for concessions. This could be the reason I've become

This was probably my favorite Green Lantern story.... ever. The fact that it didn't really become canon within the regular series is the greatest missed opportunity Green Lantern comics have ever suffered. What a great story. Byrne's art didn't hurt it either.

@Byron Donovan: I must be living in a particularly good spot for movies. The newest, & arguably best, theater in the area... a mere two minutes from my house, offers the whole raft of first run movies for the low, low price of $5.00, all day & all night, Monday-Thursday, & a.m. shows Friday-Sunday. At that price,

@gd01skorpius: I forgot about Repo Men. My cousin & I double featured that with The Crazies. That was a good night at the cinema. Those films are the reason theaters in my neck of the woods used to run "Midnight Madness" on Fridays & Saturdays. They should bring that back.

I liked The Wolfman, damn it! The Book of Eli, too.

MGM is the only hope for the Stargate franchise? The same MGM that has had epic financial troubles, & is just now barely getting the Hobbit & a new James Bond film into production? Yeah... Stargate is done.

@orangewaxlion: As I understand it, there was already a fair amount of friction built up between Raimi & the studio over story elements in the third film, which didn't create the best working atmosphere for a fourth Raimi helmed production. There seemed to be a lot of back & forth over which villain was going to be

@orangewaxlion: Keeping the rights does seem to drive a lot of these productions into a quick existence. Sometimes too quick to produce a quality product. It's still a bit early for Sony to feel any real pressure to make another Spider-Man film. They're highly motivated to do so, though, due to the lucrative box
