As a bi person, some gay characters feel like representation. Most of the characters being gay? That feels like cynical pandering. All I can do is roll my eyes every time blizzard announces another gay character in overwatch

What queer Overwatch 2 players need is for the Blizzard to not abandon the promises originally made for the game, and for queer rep to not feel like a PR move to distract from the company’s absolute bullshit.

So, in other words, queer Overwatch 2 fans are in the same boat as the straight ones: they need to get out of

I did play D4's beta, and I felt PoE scratches more of my Diablo itch more than Diablo itself, narratively and in its tone. I like its skill gem system so much and how much it encourages creativity. We have to remember the old Blizzard is a hollow shell of its former self, and the memories of it aren’t relevant

Did you play Diablo 3 on launch?  The droprate was very obviously impacted by the presence of the real money AH, and that affected the flow of the entire game.  Ignoring the AH in no way solved the problems caused by the RMAH.

I’m so excited to see how the competitive scene evolves. That was one thing that just really bummed me out about SF5. It felt like so many of the SF4 players abandoned it or just weren’t competing at a high level. The attrition of guys like Mike Ross really hurt it. I know we should just be happy we lived through that

Yeah, this gave me the feeling I never had with SFV. There’s so much fresh ideas and changeups with the gameplay, the characters have the right amount of sprucing up, and the new look feels delightfully snazzy, light-years away from “are we sure this isn’t just SF 4.5?” SFV.

Yeah, that’s the fear, and at least in Kinja comments, I see mostly nihilistic views that nothing will be done, AI will ruin the labor market, and we’ll slide further and further into societal collapse, or burying their heads in the sand and pretending AI will evaporate.

It’s just galling in the sense that we used to get dozens of thinkpieces about bullshit jobs and busywork and how they’re destroying us, rightfully calling out the broken system that is our social security net and capitalism as propping up unfulfilling jobs. Now AI is basically here ready to do the shitty work no one

lmao

There are three huge problems with the current AI narrative that really need to be broken out:

If your ideal game is human vs. human PvP, or if you want all of the dialogue in your game to just be generic background noise, then sure, AI might be sufficient at that.

“Hey NPC, can you tell me where to find the Sword of Radiant Light?”

in-game character responding in real-time to words the player says out loud”

it likely wasn’t their choice. with an IP like this the publisher likely forced release.

BORING. Don’t give two shits about yet another remake of a remake.

Not much interest in the remake, very excited for the ports since they are probably just the Bluepoint versions.

But also they are labeled as Vol 1 which means we are probably finally getting MGS4 ported.

You’re legitimately an idiot if you think any corporation is adopting AI art tools to make it easier on their artists instead of outright replacing them. Like I really can’t stress how fucking stupid you have to be to not understand that.

The problem would be that the tool can erase the jobs of the artists that it is there to help. “Make more productive” is something only a business owner should care about anyways. The actual worker should be trying to make their best work, not make more work to satisfy some faceless investor that is salivating at the

That’s not what happened! You people are genuinely delusional.

I’m actually kind of glad they came to the decision. What they were describing would have basically been an Overwatch-skinned Destiny-like at best, and more likely would have ended up closer to a FPS version of that Avengers game. Those PVE live service games have tended to be shit and Blizzard itself are a shadow of
