Honestly, I'd love to get a proper extension for Elden Ring.

I will always have this stance on single player games and the “old ways”. All these “always online” games do not last. Only ones that do are those that get there first and do gameply well enough like Destiny. The suits notice and then get the copy cats like Avengers and Anthem; look how they turned out. 

The Last of Us Part 2 built incredibly well upon themes that were well established in the first game. The fact that the discussion surrounding that was so quickly coopted by people who thought the series was just another badass simulator is really pretty tragic. 

Funny enough, I was watching a review of Returnal the other day, and the chief complaint was that the game lacked rpg elements, so the player would have to mostly grind skill rather than perks.

After having successfully killed Super Smash Bros. its work is now finished and it can sail away from these shores, peacefully, into the west.  

To me - it reeked of a Ubi open-world game: Map full of icons. Endless fetch quests with boring characters. Collectables that didn’t respect your time. Same type of encounters over and over.  Decent story drowned out by open-world “content” bloat.  I hated it.

I feel you. I bounced off of both Horizon games. The robot animals are all so cool but zero fun to actually fight and there’s waaaaaaay too many elemental effects and weaknesses to keep track of. That second game felt like homework.

I’m with you on this, I do not see the appeal in the Horizon franchise. The series to me, feels like a solid B or C game with so much marketing put behind it so people now think its a marquee franchise despite doing nothing interesting from a narrative or gameplay standpoint. 

I don’t really play my Switch, but it definitely sounds like some of their newer staples have suffered performance issues, and I imagine that wouldn’t have been the case on an even slightly more powerful system. Beyond that, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with what they’re doing.

Not sure why you’re saying fans like it’s ironic. Yes, if the sequel to a series they’ve been waiting on for years comes out and is a fundamentally different type of game, many of them will be disappointed. That’s not new or hard to understand.

I think partly because it’s Kamala Khan as the emote and because people don’t like to believe something nice can be corrupted.

Don’t mistake conotation and denotation. Words have multiple meanings and uses and even different definitions.
