But yeah, a JMS scripted Wachowski-athon could be quite nifty. I see the episode directors are the siblings plus their usual collaborators, which also could be fun. I'm in the shameful camp of having enjoyed everything they've done, at least on several different levels, if not full stop. Also curious if elements of

I thought the first episode was poop. I watched up until episode five or six(?) as I had woken up in ye olde middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep. It got progressively better, even enjoyable and engaging. That said, I haven't watched any more since.

As far as YA novels went, they were far better than I was expecting, also as game tie-ins.

Aw shit, now I'm picturing Danny McBride and that may be a good thing. Also, Benh Zeitlin of "Beasts of the Southern Wild."

The basic premise, of, well, the coming of age story of a young person whose family creates whole worlds/realities/pocket dimensions, could be a great germ idea for a tv show.

Oh, I've imagined.

Having played the whole series in order of release, I really enjoyed Real Myst, rather than the CD-ROM hypercard version of the original release. I thought it a lovely, thought-provoking thing. Then Riven happened, which I was unprepared for. I consulted a hint once, into my third month of play, after I'd planned a

Truth.

I would say my dream director of Myst would be Terrence Malick.

For whatever reason, I liked the Cinco quite a bit. The FMV over polygon model was crude, but also quite creepy cool. It was a nice super somber finale, too. Part IV was also a highlight for me.

The games also felt more to me like beginner Cultural Anthropology or Archaeology in their application of environs and found objects. The puzzles may have used buttons and levers, but the output was often musical, imaginative, or evocative of something else entire. Good stuff.

The Myst books were pretty darn good. I did a series playthrough two years back, and it all held up pretty darn well. Smart stuff, through and through. If anything, the first Myst game is the slightest, Riven is the most dense, and the Ubisoft FMV 3&4 working damn good, with subtle acting and some minor star power,

Good chicken, great front!

After several weeks without, this weekend will likely be large doses of Codemaster's new DiRT Rally, which is pretty great if you like a punishing/scary racing experience. Dark Souls behind a wheel.

Damn, they're shitting those out quick.

That is not incorrect.

I don't want to be all knock on wood and/or grimdark, but what are the odds Frank Miller lives long enough to finish this? The not-so-rumour mill has him battling life-beating illness and not doing so hot. If this is post-script, that makes it all the more sad.

Ah, true, but Miller pin-ups still stick out in my mind for some reason.

Remember "Give Me Liberty" and Martha Washington Frank Miller? Damn, that was twenty-five years ago. That work had some of his best qualities as both writer and artist and is the most quickly forgotten. Granted, I think modern Frank Miller would probably prefer it that way, and let the gross and popular stuff rise
