Yeah, I do Central Yharnam or Bridge run, mostly as described. Using visceral attacks on the ogres/werewolves also sometimes yields a bunch more loot drop, randomly, I find. The upright werewolves by Gascoigne, across from the ball of fire bridge, also gave blood shards until they stopped, then gave several blood

Curious. BSB didn't get an intro/cutscene when I played it. I just wandered in and fight began.

All the armour is pretty much the same, save for resistances. You can find pieces that will give you that slight edge in certain encounters (10% or so, is sometimes just enough).

Yeah, that's a bind for a reviewer, knowing much of your audience will find no enjoyment of the game, but be intrigued enough to want to try it, and damning you for recommending it. Hence, all the reviews that state right up front: This game is punishingly difficult, designed for a certain type of player, and your

Yeah, FFXIV is a terrific game, mechanically. Deep, rewarding, diverse. It almost feels like a FROM game, in spots. You will lose some battles if your build isn't quite right, and puzzling that out is half the fun.

Yeah, XCOM : The Long War really scratches that nihilist-masochist itch. Tension stretched out over a very long length, well past the breaking point.

Excellent. I only really hunkered down with it for two long nights, as Pillars of Eternity hit soon after, but I'm in it for the long haul. Maybe a summer project.

Reading up on it, the dev stated it won't be going on sale for awhile to come, and when it does, he'll announce it well ahead of time. Sounds like he wants to get it out on other platforms over the summer/fall before reducing it in price.

Played for a couple hours, glad I decided to snag it on a whim. Everything about the game, so far, oozes quality. Loving this one-man-band. Killer soundtrack, too. It's as if Perturbator and Metroid made sweet, unsexy love. https://axiomverge.bandcamp…

Scientology affects children, too. The families of those born into 10 billion years of service, who work 20 hour days in near slavery conditions for little to no pay. The reality for the majority of the members is worth looking into. Working young children instead of educating them, but thems the breaks, I guess.

Lovely. One of my favorites. I do like the synchronicity of this and Bully coming out around the same time. Both were far more melancholy and bittersweet than I was expecting. That feeling of extinguishing something beautiful and the confusion that results is maintained up until the lengthy and ico-reflecting finale.

I'd say, see The Guest.

I do love me some Christian Persecution Complex Pornography.

I may have the rare quiet weekend free from games, if only because Bloodborne and Pillars of Eternity come out next week and there may be various levels of hunkering.

Scramble the title, I like Rathed.

Chinatown Wars is such a strange game. Critically acclaimed, all but ignored compared to basically every other game in the series. I enjoyed it, but it has such a slow build, especially in the first act, where it suffers from tutorial/heavy-lifting exposition overload. I loved the soundtracks, which have that lowfi

Yeah, I've been describing it as a true sequel. Doesn't miss a beat, either story, or difficulty-wise, following up the first.

I can't stop playing the tunes. Just a staggering amount of good shit. That the game pairs nicely is just a bonus.

Still not far in, as the game picks up in difficulty where part one left off. Listening to and loving the soundtrack, very much, though. I'm getting less a Tarantino vibe and more a Richard Kelley one. Feels more Southland Tales than Donnie Darko, though.
