I think they confirmed that the console would be backwards compatible with all Wii controllers so the classic controller should work just fine. Still I'd reserve my judgement for when I actually get to hold it as most people who've had hands on time with it have said that it is surprisingly comfortable.

Actually I think they're developing a game called Lego City Stories, it was announced back at E3 last year.
