You do realise this is an album, right? She gets to sing about personal journeys if she wants INCLUDING the beginning of it. Shouldn’t this be obvious?

It’s pretty awesome.
I also don’t understand everyone with their “ugh just dump Jay already”...like she literally made a whole album about her path to forgiveness and it’s just so beside the point.
I know art is subjective and all that, but this is a wrong opinion. Also, Kanye is a whiny little baby, but his “art dump” makes for pretty good music.
Sorry I didn’t realise that “don’t watch the show if you don’t like the violence” was a legit criticism of the article (which wasn’t even the point of the post)
lmao your whining wasn’t “criticism” - it was a hissy fit because the author had an opinion. If the author doesn’t find the separated arcs compelling she gets to criticise it - maybe it’s build up for the next season but IT CAN STILL BE BORING for her, champ. That’s the beauty of subjectiveness, the author’s hyperbole…
Fantasy/Sci-fi? or any genre? Just wanted to add that I’m not against unhappy endings or whatever - Ursula K.Le Guin, China Mieville, Octavia Butler - they are VERY dark but they have a consistent outlook, themes and execution, some pretty radical thoughts and great prose (GRRM’s prose is so purple I can’t)
Also, I NEVER thought it was good. It is nihilistic garbage that cares less about the psychological and the real-time domino effects of violence and more about lingering on the act of violence itself. It’s bullshit that people eat up. I watch it too because it’s entertaining bullshit with pretty people, but it is…
Shitty art but it is art. Like it has a story and some creativity and it’s fiction blah blah. Still crap but *shrug*
Did you even read the poster’s comment? It literally says that the author should stop watching the show if she doesn’t like the violence - which wasn’t what the author said, and the only reason that comment even exists because the poster think “GoT’s violence is awesome” and he/she won’t brook any other opinion IN…
It’s amazing how one manages to miss the point of even a short blog post by clinging to one word, “violence” so.
Yeah, and I always get annoyed when people defend the show’s nihilism by saying “actually life also has no point” - and they truly wanted to be realistic, shouldn’t the show be depicting love, and fun and laughter? That exists as much as violence and rape or we’d all have offed ourselves by now.
“DON’T WATCH THE SHOW IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT” is not a criticism of the criticism.
Art gets criticised, that’s kind of a thing that happens, yeah? Don’t read the criticism if you know you’ll feel the need to start whining about it.
Agreed. I find it really entertaining (at least the first 4 seasons), but garbage-like entertainment.
if you don’t like reading differing opinions on a show you like
Somebody on twitter said if anything happens to Joni or Stevie Wonder this year, they will literally give up on life...which I really connected hard with. This year is awful. I saw John Waters trending on twitter and I started to panic because I thought he passed away too, but it was trending bc he turned 70 this year.
I hope it’s the latter, because Grimes is amazing.
UGH WHY. Also Jack Antanoff (dude from random band and Lena Dunham’s BF) called her The MICHAEL JACKSON of our time which made me see red, I swear to god. Also, I’m now a full on AppleSwiftgate conspiracy theorist, and also someone stop this woman. She said she was going to take a break to avoid the limelight and then…
It’s always funny to me when people defend unnecessary violence with “well life is full of unnecessary violence so it’s just being realistic”. Have these people not heard of NARRATIVE? Building up your characters and plots only to kill them off is not somehow more realistic.
