They’re Americans, with American passports - their “country of origin” is America. Why would they bring up their parent’s or their grandparent’s nationality in front of me or the other passengers? You don’t really care about empathising with this children, you only want to dismiss experiences of racism and bigotry.

I find people who automatically distrust experiences about racism/sexism/bigotry to be quite dangerous.

Perhaps, but again - don’t put Hollywood racism on that - they’re literally adapting Japanese shows, and they choose white actors to play Japanese characters with Japanese names within the context of their culture. “That’s what you get” is kind of a problematic tone to take. It’s on the studio execs, simple as that.
