I mean, listen, I love Shonda and I love Scandal and Olivia Pope with all my heart, but they made Katherine Heigl give CPR to a deer and then make out with a ghost. That season was so truly awful. And I don’t understand why she didn’t give Isaiah Washington the same shit she gave to Heigl.

*sigh* I’m not trying to make you ~feel~ anything. This is a comment section, we have different opinions, I’m trying to get you to see my view, which I didn’t think you quite got.

No, I meant just that, when he stepped out of the apartment, and Abbi danced around naked.

I was talking about your OP, where you said Broad City was like Girls with more likable characters. They’re different kind of shows, with different kind of comedy. You might not find one type of that comedy funny, but it’s still pointless to compare them.

The happiness on her face when she realised that Bevers had finally left the apartment was amazing

It’s so annoying. Apparently women cannot make political decisions without being carried away with sentimental hogwash. If we vote for Hillary, it’s because we’re women and she’s a woman, and that we don’t know what’s good for us. If we vote for Bernie, then it is because, in the words of Gloria Steinem, we’re trying

My point was that the scene I mentioned was literally the opening scene of the show, and I find it hard to believe when people say Girls has no satirical aspects. Your opinion on how good it is is your own, obviously, but it just isn’t comparable to Broad City. Just because they’re white girls in NYC - it’s the same

No, it was my fault, lol. I don’t know why I immediately thought of that guy. He was my least favorite part of the show.

I don’t know. I watched the first season of Girls and I read the summaries and now I’m watching the latest one. The satire is sharp and obvious too. The very first scene was Hannah reacting to her parents cutting her off with “Don’t you guys realise how lucky you are that I’m not addicted to pills?” and the show

No, he is! I just assumed people who watched the show in the first season would be more familiar with Hannibal (he was a draw for many people) and my mind immediately went to Bevers. My bad!

I always thought of Girls as a satire on this demographic of middle/upper middle class, liberal arts educated kids who are narcissistic and self indulgent. Broad City...well, Broad City is a stoner comedy.

The comments on the video are so vile. Top one? “These motherfuckers are only voting for her because she’s a woman” Jesus.

Ah, yes! I just assumed she/he knew who Hannibal was as he was already popular before the show and was talking about the other ‘boyfriend’ in the show.

My favorite part of the show was Cynthia Nixon telling the volunteers what questions they should refuse to answer. “We do not answer questions on makeup, bras, panties.”

Are you kidding me? Bevers is what you like best about the show? BEVERS?

Or you could blame it on the lack of a standard education, devastating socio-political environments and continuous upheaval and war in the countries. You know. The usual things that keep people ignorant.

You clearly don’t watch enough movies.

Yeah, but they were the aesthetics of the show, which was quite distinct for each one. He didn’t do much to bring it, the DP probably did.

No, I knew he co-wrote the movies. It’s why I specifically mentioned that he lacked “visual” flair. He’s a funny guy, I just think he’s a better writer as opposed to a director.

It’s why I said “director” not writer-director
