He has very kind eyes that crinkle ever so slightly when he smiles, and I’m pretty sure I project all my love for my Grandpa onto the Pope and therefore have more affection for him than I should tbh.

I’m so glad Priyanka and Dhanush and Deepika are representing south asians, but this route only means that the chances of Indian Americans making it in the American film industry decreases, with lesser slots and with the prerequisite of earlier success in Bollywood.

I meant directors, actually, and from his production company not Fresh Prince era.

I said the latter two for the last two decades maybe. A scattered few over twenty, no thirty to forty years is not some representation. And no, Hailee Stienfeld probably shouldn’t count, being 1/8th filipino, nor white passing PoC who are playing white people.

Just the fact that while talking about diversity since 2012, that there has been no roles that Asians could put forth and be like, Ok we could get nominated for this, is awful.

I’m here for Jada because with her and her husband’s production company, all her projects involve diverse women, but Will Smith’s projects are just one white dude after another, so it’s hard for me to take seriously.

Glenda Jackson is rad as hell. Oscars and Golden Globes both are more about Hollywood culture and self-congratulation than about cinema.

I never get tired of people losing their damn minds with rage every single time Kanye says something hyperbolic.

I love that he pretty much said the same thing when Yeezus came out. He was like ‘I’m 38 but my brain is like at 3 right now and the younger my brain is the more creative I can get’ which objectively speaking, is both a good thing and also not so much.

With that being said, I’m really loving the Avant-garde Crunk sound of this track. I love that RihRih is experimenting with her music, which is truly the sign of a great musician.

At least you didn’t rick roll us? That counts for something, right?

Agreed. I loved Creed, it was honestly better than all the fucking stale biopics and the bear grylls movies.

But SOC literally pointedly ignored the abuse of black women. You think, if a white woman was abused instead, the liberal media would call for SOC to be nominated? The snub I was most upset about was Ryan Coogler for Creed.

Sorry for unloading all of this word vomit, but just one more thing. When people talk about Straight Outta Compton this year, it’s also because it is about “black culture” even though, let’s be honest, it’s a shitty film and propagates misogynoir imo. Sure, shitty movies with white people get nominated too, but like,

The problem with Oscars with regards to black people is that, even though they get awards, they only get it for stereotypical roles, which is just as incredibly degrading. I just wished people even mentioned other PoC when they talk about this Oscars so white thing.

This is really annoying me too. I loved Creed, and I wanted badly for Ryan Coogler to get nominated for Best Director, but I’m sick of people acting like poc = black people. IMO, Del Toro probably gave the best performance of the year, and no one brings him up, or Oscar Isaac for Ex-Machina, even though they’re PoC as

lol I don’t think that’s how it works

As I said, I’m a Bernie supporter. But apparently you cannot abide any honest criticism of a few of his supporters or of him without somehow blaming it on some weird “ideological grind”. What does that mean, really?

you’re right, i’m just making this up for funsies!
