Why am I thinking about Zoolander after reading this?

Are you OK? This is a story about African Americans lynching a White chain-gang boss who’d ordered the murder of an African American fisherman. (With a few hundred witnesses, incidentally.) 

You’ve linked to a case in which Black people lynched a convict labour boss, who was White, who had ordered the murder of a Black fisherman. 

Yeah, I mostly agree with all that. I’ll just say that if we grant she has serious mental health issues, (the hyper-vigilance and paranoia thing) it’s hardly surprising that she’s not dealing with the fallout in the best way.

“Surreal” works for me too. But as you note, it’s both broad and subjective in application. In the spirit of trying to be a little more precise, I’ll put “Dadaist” out there for consideration. Duchamp’s “Fountain” obviously, though his  “Nu descendant un escalier” conveys the whole arc of this administration…
