As someone who was 100% obsessed with Tron as a little kid, I probably put about $24010412340135 dollars into this and the other stand up (and better) Tron arcade game. Really cool to see this. 

Thats...kinda what I’m getting at. The entire “here’s a dude just flailing around, jumping, rolling, landing...with no regard to what’s even remotely normal...”

As a 30+ year old gamer, I’ve always been able to have that necessary suspension of disbelief when gaming but Max Payne is one of those games where I get this overwhelming feeling of “this is ridiculous” anytime I play. I LOVE the games (I think they are truly great), but after like the 150th slow mo dive I get this…

Not really. This film is meant to be seen squarely from his perspective, before the internet and before the news/photos of the real toll had been accounted for. You are in the psyche of a singular character, not really zoomed out. We all know what happened, the point of the movie isn’t to go over it per se.

I’ve been with you since the beginning on here (through some various usernames over the years). Thank you for all your work and insights over the years. You’ll be missed!!! 

I have very vivid memories of buying this with my older brother when it came out and staring at that beautiful box art in the car on the way home. Played that entire summer with him and his friends around the tv. Amazing time. 

Uhhhh...and you’re ignoring mine. I don’t think someone who would buy a Mission Impossible game is buying it to BE Tom Cruise specifically, the appeal of a game in that franchise would be to pull of the crazy action/stunts that you see from the heroes and villains in the movies. The physical, over the top action is…

Plenty of ways around that though. You can be the “new agent”....create a character, same world building/names without actually using Cruise’s image.
