I know that realistically you can't stand on the surface of Saturn, but if you could, would you be able to see the rings?

So does the Eye need to sit right under/on top of the TV? The reason i ask is, my PS3 isn't close to the TV, I have the TV hung on a wall over my fireplace and cables running behind the wall, to the PS3 five feet away or so. If you need to be right infront of the Eye, I'll need a USB extension cable.
