None of these idiots learned anything from the post-Lost craze, as evidenced by them *still* using it to promote their shows to this day (eu tu, The Crossing?).

It would certainly be something for Thompson to go from her unnatural, stiff performance on Veronica Mars to being the new lead in a billion-dollar franchise. It’s a sign that you can’t count out actors early in their careers. Maybe I should give Greg Grunberg another chance...
That’s exactly how the show works typically. These last two seasons though have prioritized shock over fairness and it’s felt inorganic and more obviously manipulated. Hopefully the current season rediscovers the show’s love of rewarding excellence.
‘among Shangela stans’
Okay but when is Mike Barker coming back to TV? His voice (both auditory and writing-wise) has now been missing from American Dad for what, three/four seasons?
It’s very ‘Wendy Pepper on Season 1 of Project Runway’ (RIP). Would I have loved to hang out with her? No. But Jay Carroll was such a fucking asshole to her for so long that I decided I liked her just because I hated him so much. Same thing applied to me and the Marcel/Ilan situation (although I was majorly attracted…
All I said was that I thought he was a bad actor. Does that really qualify as attacking someone? Your previous comment to me was far more of an attack, accusing me of defending Lena Dunham when all I’m trying to do is to get people to stop goddamn exaggerating. When you hyperbolize it weakens your position but no one…
This honestly made me laugh. What self-righteous drivel. You’re right, me choosing to not burn Lena Dunham at the stake makes me a super shitty person. And saying that she was wrong is apparently defending her, who knew?
Look, I think it was dumb of her to release the original statement, but criticizing her for making a mistake and also ADMITTING to making a mistake is insanity. And it’s pretty clear from the options you give that there is just a frothing NEED in the progressive community to tear down Lena Dunham. I’m not saying she…
I would guess you don’t have a strong enough grasp on language to know what an ‘opinion’ is.
Apropos of nothing, I think Harold Perrineau is a really bad actor. Every time I see his name come up in something I groan. I’m pretty forgiving of actors and the only other one I can think of that I viscerally dislike is Adam Goldberg.
Sorry, but that is a wild mischaracterization of what Dunham and Konner said. They claimed to have intimate knowledge of the situation, not that he was ‘always cool to them.’ You can make your argument without making shit up, you know.
The women in Whedon shows are far more likely to do the lecturing. Now Aaron Sorkin...
In the last few weeks I’ve been conditioned to expect that weird cancellations in media stuff is usually preceded or followed by revelations that make it impossible to enjoy the work of the people involved ever again.
A Christmas Carol is my pick for best of NuWho. It’s so special and it stays with you long after you’ve seen it. It’s Moffat’s answer to The Constant, an equally great episode of television.
I don’t think that’s a fair criticism. The murder victims on the show were pretty evenly divided down gender lines and there weren’t ‘women in peril’ storylines that often, unlike on other serial killer series (*cough* The Following). Hannibal had its issues (I found the third season at times to be a barely-mitigated…
Bryan Fuller did say after the season one finale of Queer as Folk that the character he most identified with was the one who nearly beat the gay kid to death. At the time I thought it was cool to hate on stereotypical gay people (as a non-stereotypical gay person), but now I realize that I’m an asshole and he kind of…
This was picked up for a two-season order, I thought. Maybe Netflix realized that renewing shows before they premiere gives up valuable press, especially when they release the whole season at once.
Try saying something original. Don’t just give a Cliff Notes summary of all the things people have said for years. It’s like complaining about Tarantino being too violent. Sure it’s mostly true, but the conversation has already been had ad nauseam. What’s his point, that Sorkin has problems with female characters? We…
I burned myself on how scalding hot this take was! How original and insightful!
