It takes funding and experience to go from running an internet company out of your dorm room to hiring people who in turn develop protocols in areas of HR, IT, marketing, physical security, etc. and then hire staff to perform those functions.
Then Disney puts their shows directly on youtube to capture those viewers, and he's paid a good sized salary to boot.
I mean, does anyone really "hate" him in that sense, or is it all self-promotion? It's like on Life's Too Short when Warwick Davis paid Cat Deely 5k to appear at his party, and then walked around saying, "Did you guys hear the rumor, about Cat Deely and me?!?"
Not that I care about this guy either way, but there's an article in GQ this month about the influence of social media on the nuts and bolts of the entertainment industry that features an interview with him, and he's much savvier and self-aware than his persona would suggest, especially for a 20 year old. Paraphrased:
I won't watch porn when the female has too many tats, or has those weird chest piercings.
That's the impression I got afterward. At this point, spend more time on human drama and less on shocking brutality; we've already seen it, we know the consequences of this world.
