You have put together an excellent comment here and I enjoyed reading it. I did want to clarify that I am NOT saying this situation was suicide. This situation definitely seems deeply problematic and needs to be investigated.

Suicide is an extraordinarily important topic to me and is a major point in the story we are reading. And as another person mentioned the disregard for mental health care for black people in our country is complete shit. Which is why I brought it up.
